The anti-Uber alliance: Ola, GrabTaxi, Lyft and Didi Kuaidi

anti uber alliance

The global anti-Uber alliance has announced a major expansion, with new partnerships in India and Southeast Asia that will increase its coverage to nearly half of the world’s population. Ola of India and Singapore-based GrabTaxi are set to join the alliance, which already includes Lyft in the US and Didi Kuaidi in China. The companies will link their systems next year, essentially creating a common fleet that customers can access anywhere in the world… The alliance poses the biggest challenge yet to Uber’s global dominance in ride hailing, as the company fights for market share in the 60 countries in which it operates. The alliance is not only linking payments, but also sharing strategy… The companies also share some key investors such as Alibaba, the Chinese ecommerce group… The four ride-hailing services have collectively raised about $ 7 billion, while Uber has raised more than $10 billion.
