White Star Capital hunts for tech companies outside the US

White Star Capital, a transatlantic venture capital group focused on start-up hubs outside Silicon Valley, has launched a $70 million fund, the latest investment group to open in the hunt for tech companies outside the US. The group, which will be based in London, New York and Montreal, will look to make investments in fledgling tech groups in the three cities, but in particular look to deploy capital across Europe… In the past year, three London-based groups were launched: Notion Capital with a $120 million fund, Highland Europe with a €332 million fund and Octopus Ventures with a $140 million fund… White Star Capital plans to make investments between $500,000 and $5 million. The company said it had already deployed $25 million in launching the fund…
